Shri Sanjay Lohiya is a 1994 batch IAS Officer from Assam-Meghalaya cadre. He is currently posted as Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance w.e.f. 1.6.2026.

Prior to this position, he served as an Additional Secretary in Ministry of Mines. He was also the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister in Government of Assam, Joint Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture, Director in PMO, etc.

He joined Indian Administrative Service (IAS) after graduating from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

Shri K. Moses Chalai is a 1990 batch IAS officer from Manipur cadre. He is currently posted as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance since April 22, 2025.

Prior to this position, he served Government of India as Secretary, Inter State Council, Ministry of Home Affairs (2024-2025) where he contributed towards preparation of Urban Master Plans and power availability in the country. As Secretary, North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER (2019-2024) he worked in the areas of infrastructure, health, education and entrepreneurship. He also worked as Joint Secretary/Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development (2016-2019), where he dealt with the flagship programme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, gender budgeting and women welfare.

During his tenure in the Government of Manipur, he served as Principal Secretary/Secretary (2008-2016) in the areas of health, higher education, horticulture, cooperation, among others. He also worked as Programme Coordinator, North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project (NERCORMP), Shillong (2003-2008). He handled various other assignments in the state government, including Joint Secretary/Director, as well as DM/ADM/SDM.

Shri Chalai maintains a keen interest in technology- led development, urban development, infrastructure and livelihood.

Shri Shirish Chandra Murmu took charge as Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, on 9^th October 2025. Shri Murmu was Executive Director of the Reserve Bank before being elevated to the post of Deputy Governor.

Shri Murmu, a career central banker with more than 33 years of vast and diverse experience, joined the Reserve Bank in 1991 and has worked in various positions. As Executive Director, he was looking after the Department of Supervision and Secretary’s Department. His areas of expertise include regulation and supervision of regulated entities and management of IT infrastructures.

Shri Murmu has headed several high-level Internal committees to review the RBI regulations in various areas. He was the Chairperson of “Inter-Institutional Committee on Comprehensive Review of Priority Sector Lending Certificates” and “Internal Group on Regulation Cluster (Commercial and Cooperative Banking, Non-Banking)”. He was an Invitee in the “Regulatory Review Authority 2.0” set up by the Reserve Bank in April 2021 and Member of the “Internal Working Group to Review Extant Ownership Guidelines and Corporate Structure for Indian Private Sector Banks” constituted by the Reserve Bank in 2020.

Shri Murmu has served as RBI Nominee Director on the Boards of Bank of India and Dena Bank in the past, as well as on the Board of ECGC Limited. Shri Murmu has also served as the Regional Director of Kolkata Office and as the Chief General Manager in Department of Information Technology, Central Office of the Reserve Bank. He has also held senior management roles in other key central banking areas, including Banking Regulation and Currency Management.

Shri Murmu holds a master’s degree in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking (CAIIB).
